Victoria Falls & Chobe National Park

The explorer David Livingstone, the first known European to see the Victoria Falls, described it as a scene "so lovely it must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight". The Victoria Falls is one of the world's greatest natural wonders. The columns of spray created by the Falls have at times been seen 80 kilometres away. We recommend staying on the Zambian side of the Falls where the facilities are excellent and the service levels very dependable. The close proximity of Botswana's Chobe National Park to the Victoria Falls provides an ideal opportunity to visit this riverine forest. Chobe National Park is situated on the flood plains of the Chobe River which is one of the Zambezi's main tributaries and measures in excess of 12 000 square kilometres (about 4 600 square miles). It has a great abundance of game which often occur in great herds.
